Important Announcement from Chair of TrusteesBack
Dear Parents, Guardians and Staff of Bernwode Schools Trust (The Cooper School and Glory Farm Primary School)
We are currently living through extraordinary and unprecedented times on a local, national and worldwide nature due to the pandemic novel coronavirus, Covid-19. The impact on our communities is becoming more and more significant on a daily basis. In such times of uncertainty we need some sense of continuity for our schools in the Trust, The Cooper School and Glory Farm Primary School.
In December 2019, our Executive Headteacher Ben Baxter, made clear his intention to resign his position with effect from the end of this academic year and the Trustees were looking to find his successor with interviews scheduled for next week on the 24th and 25th March. Recognising these unprecedented times and the uncertainty, worry and stress that is affecting staff, students, parents and guardians in this community, Ben has very generously offered to retract his resignation and continue in his role of Executive Headteacher into the next academic year. As Trustees we are indebted to Ben for making this selfless offer which we have been delighted to accept. We hope that you, as parents of pupil/students at both schools (and those of you with children in Year 6 transitioning to The Cooper School in September) will be equally pleased, even relieved, with this news.
There is some detail to be worked through with Ben and his Senior Leadership Teams in the coming weeks which will, of course, be communicated with you as that is worked through. I wanted to let you all know this news as soon as possible and hope that you will be reassured that there is the ongoing stability in the leadership of our schools in the Trust in these uncertain times.
With all best wishes.
